I think of the young men and women I have met lately who are struggling with the same problem as me, and I see great trees in their future, when they reach my age.
But it is no small accomplishment that I now do the second best thing, to plant a new tree now.
For eighteen years I have watched my beautiful baby mature into a stunning young lady. This year she will branch off into the world and achieve a dream I have wished for...going to college. I'm not very good at lectures, and I always thought life was something that had to be learned by living. That doesn't mean I've been a silent observer, either, I just don't think my little "nuggets of knowledge" are appreciated right now. So this blog is meant to share what has taken me 40 years to learn...that sometimes your parents do know more than you do.

Always be planting trees. Little acts of kindness - toward others as well as yourself - can go a long way.
